I am a money saving crafter in many aspects of my life, starting with my wardrobe. Every woman dreams of a closet full of clothes, but none of us are willing to max out our credit cards to get it. That’s why I turn to thrift stores. Now your first thoughts of “thrift store” might be old, used, and out dated clothes. But believe me even though you will definitely find all of those things, what you may not know is that if you have the time and patience, you can find magnificent articles of clothing. My plan is to show you readers everything I find in thrift stores and how you can create original outfits out of your purchases.
“Thrifting” doesn’t stop at my closet; it makes its way into my entire home, and by “entire home” I mean a studio apartment in downtown San Diego that I share with my fiancé. I love when I find a pair of matching items like wine glasses, or mason jars, but what I love even more is when I find different items that have similar color schemes and bringing them together! The mismatch of it all brings character to the home.
I had mentioned that I have a fiancé right? Perfect, cause that brings me to my next money saving topic; MY WEDDING! This is the project that I am most excited about, for obvious reasons. I have taken on the role of my own wedding planner. Not only does that save me hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars, but I had always dreamed of being a wedding planner. I will bring all of my thrift store buys and crafting together to create my dream wedding.
So now you have a feel of how crafting is not just a hobby but a lifestyle. I want to take my readers with me on this journey I call life and see if we can save a few bucks while we’re at it, leaving us with enough money for wine at the end the day.
