A very important decoration piece at our engagement party was the "Amandy" banner. I have seen those triangle banners and I absolutely love them! So of course I had to create one myself.
My supplies
Dollar Tree: Black poster board, decorated folders & gold glitter
Target $1 section: White & gold poster markers
Plus of course my favorite art supply: Gold scissors (Amazon)
Not in the photo: Hot glue gun & string (I bought one of those strings that you wrap around pig when your cooking it, at a thrift store for .50cents...weird I know)

Step 1 - Draw out triangle shapes on black poster with gold marker
Tip: I used the edge of the folders to make sure my lines were perfect.
Step 2 - Cut out the triangles
Tip: Have someone there to take your action shots. I didn't and I ended up with blurry pictures!

Step 3 - Do the same with the decorated folders, except this time make sure they are at least 1/2 an inch bigger than the black triangles
Tip: Put the black triangles on top of the decorated folders to measure

Step 4 - Draw the letters on the black triangles with the white marker
Tip: Write the letter lightly with a pencil before committing to the marker

Okay, this is as far as I got with pictures. So the next few steps will be for you to imagine.
Step 5 - Glue the triangles together
Step 6 - Glue the glitter on the boarder of the black triangles to make it POP
Step 7 - Glue the string on the back of the triangles
Tip: Make sure they are separated evenly

Step 8 - Hang & admire
This banner was only $6 to make and it was the staple decoration of our engagement party.
I hope this inspires you to create your own decorations to any party you throw!
